WOŚP Run in Brussels

WOŚP Run in Brussels – Sport, Charity, Solidarity, and Support for Children!

On January 26, 2025, Brussels once again became the site of a remarkable event: the 19th edition of the "Count for Diabetes" run took place along the paths of Cinquantenaire Park as part of the 33rd Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP). The run was organized by the WOŚP Brussels committee and executed by BeActive. It was held under the honorary patronage of the Permanent Representation of Poland to the European Union during Poland’s presidency of the EU Council, with the strategic partnership of the Western Pomorze.

A Shared Run for Children's Health

The run began under the arches of Cinquantenaire Park, where participants embarked on a 5-kilometer course. This year, for the first time, a children's run was also organized, giving the youngest participants an opportunity to actively take part and support this special initiative.

Distinguished Guests at the Starting Line

The significance of the event as an initiative supporting health and social solidarity within the framework of the 33rd WOŚP Grand Finale was highlighted by the participation of notable figures such as Robert Korzeniowski – four-time Olympic gold medalist, Piotr Serafin – European Commissioner for Budget, Fraud Prevention, and Public Administration, and Glenn Micallef – European Commissioner for Intergenerational Justice, Youth, Culture, and Sport.

Support and Generosity of Participants

A total of 300 participation packages were available, and all proceeds from their sale were donated to purchase insulin pumps for women fighting diabetes during pregnancy, as well as to support pediatric oncology and hematology. A huge thank you to all participants for their generosity and commitment!

Sponsors

LThe event would not have been possible without the involvement of sponsors: Business Science Poland, Innovest, Green Home Group BV, and Magabel.

See You Next Year!

We sincerely thank all runners, donors, sponsors, partners, and patrons for their trust, commitment, and participation in this year’s event. Your energy allows us to help even more effectively! We already invite you to the next edition – together, we can achieve even more!
